Communication of the safety of vaccines is multifaceted and we are only starting to scratch the surface. Several highly professional organizations are working in this area aiming to communicate in plain language what is a highly complex subject.
The content of what is communicated varies widely depending on the audience. Communication between manufacturers and regulators, scientists with health professionals, or public health authorities and the press represent vastly different challanges. However, all of these different areas of communication need to be based on high quality source information, available in a timely fassion.
In the Brighton Collaboration, we have started to address this issue by facilitating internal communication between our members coming from all corners of the world, working in all time zones, and being pressed for time by establishing an online collaboration platform resembling a virtual research institute. We sre establishing working groups translating our documents in the 5 additional official WHO languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish.
We would like to engage in activities to better understand what drives concerns and what the mechanisms or rumor evolution are.
